I can now leave my house, communicate with different people, and work towards a positive future. I wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without the support of Building Bridges.
Wendy’s feedback on support received through the programme and from her Building Bridges Support Worker.
Wendy* heard about the Building Bridges Programme through a nurse at her GP Surgery. Before joining the programme Wendy was struggling with anxiety and depression which made it difficult for her to leave the house. Wendy had also experienced workplace bullying which left her feeling vulnerable and unsure about the future.
Wendy joined the Building Bridges Programme with the aim of improving her mental health and finding a way back into employment.
Through the programme, Wendy worked on confidence-building and strategies to cope with anxiety. Wendy also learned how to manage her emotions and communication skills to help her engage with different people without fear.
As her confidence grew, Wendy was able to take a big step in her journey. She now has a part-time job which has given her a sense of purpose and the motivation to keep moving forward.

“Building Bridges has helped me regain my confidence and move forward in life. I would not have been able to do any of this without the support of Building Bridges. I can now leave my house, communicate with different people, and work towards a positive future. My hopes for the future are to have a full-time job, manage my anxiety, and stay positive. This programme has truly been life-changing for me, and I am so grateful for the help I received.”
